About The Event

IN 2014, The ZEE JAIPUR LITERATURE FESTIVAL had an idea: to create a B2B platform, running parallel with the festival. In the 4 years since its inception, It is fast emerging as a nerve centre for the South Asian Publishing Industry

Jaipur BookMark (JBM) brings together stakeholders of the book trade from across the world - publishers, literary agents, writers, translators, translation agencies and book sellers. It gives them an opportunity not just to "talk business" through relevant sessions and focused roundtables; but also provides the right and fruitful atmosphere to inspire conversations and a space for one-on- one meetings and networking. This intimacy forges relationships and allows the occasional contract to be signed too.

JBM is the ultimate South Asian book conclave which provides an edge to those in the publishing industry on the lookout for new ideas and collaborations..

For us at JBM, translations are a mantra.

TRANSLATIONS, we believe, transform the publishing and literary ecosystem into a democratic space, and WE have made a concerted effort towards galvanising the translations landscape in India and thus aim to bring Indian writing into the international space.

JBM 2018

In 2018, JBM returns with its 5th edition with a focus on key industry issues and the 2018 Global Rights Translation Catalogue.

Watch this space for the complete programme that will include focused sessions, keynotes, masterclasses, and networking.

We will also announce three major awards at Jaipur BookMark 2018:

  • The Vani Foundation Translation Award to a translator of Indian origin for their lifetime work in the field of translating between two Indian languages.
  • The Romain Rolland Literary Prize 2018 will recognise publishers and translators working on translations of French works into Indian languages.
  • The Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Award.
